MISERY SIGNALS Announce New Singer
March 20, 2006Milwaukee, WI's metalcore act MISERY SIGNALS has announced the addition of vocalist Karl Schubach to the group's ranks. Schubach, who hails from Saskatchewan, Canada, has never sung for a band before and was a guitarist before joining MISERY SIGNALS. "He sent over an mp3 of him singing one of our songs and it floored us!" bassist Kyle Johnson says. "From there we sent him a new song and he responded almost immediately and we loved what he did with the song."
Schubach came out to rehearse and hasn't left since moving into the same Madison, WI apartment as Johnson. The group — rounded out by guitarist Stuart Ross (guitar),Ryan Morgan (guitar) and his brother Branden Morgan (drums) — will enter the studio with producer Ben Schigel (RINGWORM, WALLS OF JERICHO, CHIMAIRA) in May to begin work on their second full-length to be released later this year on Ferret Music.
MISERY SIGNALS' debut full-length, "Of Malice And The Magnum Heart", released on Ferret in 2004, achieved a landslide of press and fan acclaim. The release allowed the band to tour non-stop over the last two years through the U.S. and Europe with such artists as BLEEDING THROUGH, ZAO, THE DILLINGER ESCAPE PLAN, EVERY TIME I DIE, DARKEST HOUR, STRAPPING YOUNG LAD and more.
MISERY SIGNALS will be embarking on a headlining tour in April with support from BLACK MY HEART (Eulogy Recordings),TOO PURE TO DIE and BURN IN SILENCE. The band will be playing at least three new songs a night along with their classic material. "We can’t wait to play the new material for the fans and are excited to give them a taste of what’s in store," the band said. MISERY SIGNALS have also been confirmed for two weeks on this summer's edition of the Warped Tour along with AFI, THURSDAY, SAVES THE DAY and more. "Being on Warped means we will be playing for a virtually new crowd who don’t frequent the metal or hardcore shows which means we will have the opportunity to win over entirely new fans," the band said.
